Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination: Track and trace inbound ocean containers, monitoring critical milestones from origin port to final delivery.
- Documentation: Prepare, verify, and process vital shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, arrival notices, and commercial invoices.
- Customs Support: Liaise with customs brokers to ensure freight is released promptly and free from costly storage or demurrage charges.
- Communication & Problem Solving: Serve as the first point of contact for clients, truckers, and overseas agents. Proactively flag and resolve shipping delays or exceptions.
- Billing & Auditing: Audit carrier/vendor invoices against internal quotes and process customer billing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma, plus specialized training or an associate/bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a strong asset.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant freight forwarding or import coordination experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel). Familiarity with freight management and TMS platforms (e.g., CargoWise).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional multitasking and time-management abilities to juggle multiple shipments under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
